Raleigh is very dog friendly. The Raleigh Sheraton is a good, dog-friendly hotel, the fine folks at NCSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital really know how to treat a dog, and there are a lot of dog friendly restaurants. Among my current favorites are: Zely and Ritz (organic, local), Duck and Dumpling (try the duck dumplings), Bistro 607 (nice, fresh, and faintly French), and Prime Only (ask if they have any scraps).
